Custom Cigar Label Portraits
Some artwork decorates a wall.
Other artwork tells your story.
That is exactly what Custom Cigar Label Art is all about.
At Legends in Labels, artist Lester Herbertson transforms meaningful photographs into handcrafted portraits using thousands of authentic cigar labels. Every custom commission becomes a completely unique piece of collectible art designed to celebrate the people, passions, and moments that matter most.
Whether it's a family member, a beloved pet, or someone who has inspired generations, each portrait is created with the same craftsmanship and attention to detail found throughout the Legends in Labels collection.
Why Custom Cigar Label Art Is Unlike Any Other Portrait
Traditional portraits capture a likeness.
A custom cigar label portrait captures a story.
Each piece is carefully designed using genuine cigar bands layered together to recreate shadows, highlights, textures, and color. The result is artwork that reveals new details every time you look at it.
No two portraits are ever alike.
Every commission is handcrafted specifically for the client, making it a true one-of-one collectible.
A Personalized Process with Lester Herbertson
Every custom portrait begins with a conversation.
Clients simply provide their favorite photograph, and Lester works closely with them to understand the story behind the image, the personality of the subject, and the overall vision for the finished artwork.
Throughout the design process, composition, color, and cigar label placement are thoughtfully considered to create a portrait that is both recognizable and artistically distinctive.
The final piece is professionally printed as an archival giclée and presented using premium framing options worthy of a gallery display.
From Personal Tributes to Iconic Commissions
Although the custom portrait collection is still growing, it has already produced memorable commissions.
One recent project transformed celebrity chef Guy Fieri into a one-of-a-kind cigar label portrait that perfectly reflects his larger-than-life personality. Rather than simply recreating a photograph, the artwork incorporates carefully selected cigar labels that enhance the colors, textures, and energy of the piece.
